Brian Cardin, Physical Therapist and Certified Pedorthist and President/CEO of Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy
Brian has been practicing Physical Therapy since 1994. Most of his therapy career has been spent in Central Pennsylvania, with a 2 year hiatus in Central Ohio. His undergraduate schooling was done locally at Central Penn College, Slippery Rock University, and Penn State at Harrisburg. His Professional training as a Physical Therapist was completed at the University of Findlay, in Findlay, Ohio. He received his Pedorthics training (C.Ped.) at Temple University's School of Podiatric Medicine.
The bulk of his therapy career has consisted of outpatient orthopedic care in the private practice setting. Brian has extensive experience working with clients with a variety of orthopedic ailments ranging from foot pain to jaw problems. His particular area of interest however, is working with clients with foot and lower extremity dysfunction. By combining his experience as a Physical Therapist (to assess and impact biomechanics throughout the kinetic chain), and his experience as a pedorthist (to identify and implement footwear and/or orthotic needs), he is able to provide a unique service to our clients. Cardin & Miller Physical Therapy has associated themselves with Dutrey's Shoes and Appalachian Running Co. to offer a full-service pedorthic center.
On a personal note, Brian lives in Carlisle with his wife Nikki and their two daughters, Rileigh and Reagan. Brian enjoys running and biking for exercise and spending family time with his girls! Brian and his family are looking forward to being an active part in the Carlisle and neighboring communities for many years to come.
Steve Miller, Physical Therapist and Certified Pedorthist and Vice-President/Treasurer of Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy
Since 1994, Steve has been practicing outpatient, orthopedic physical therapy in the Central Pennsylvania region. His academic history includes undergraduate work at Central Pennsylvania College, and Lock Haven University, as well as graduate studies at the University of Findlay in Ohio. Steve has been to more that 20 continuing education courses during that span with the focus being Orthopedic, Sports, Spinal (McKenzie neck and back treatment), and foot and ankle injuries. Steve has spent his physical therapy career in an outpatient orthopedic private practice setting.
Since the establishment of Cardin and Miller, he has served as a Clinical Director. Steve's area of expertise is orthopedic and athletic rehabilitation. He utilizes a combination of McKenzie, manual therapies, and functional exercise in the treatment of clients with all types of spinal, upper and lower extremity, and sports related dysfunctions. Steve has worked with the local middle and high school programs as well as local middle age athletes to assist them in achieving their goal of returning to pre-injury performance levels.
On a personal level, Steve lives in Camp Hill with his wife Megan, his son Gavin, daughter Nora and dog Cosmo. Steve and his family are looking forward to contributing to the well-being of the Carlisle and surrounding communities for years to come.
Robert Gorinski, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Mechanicsburg Location
Bob graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He has worked in outpatient orthpedics for over ten years, is certified in the McKenzie method of evaluation and treatment of movement dysfunction, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Bob joined the Cardin and Miller team in the winter of 2012 as the clinic director of our Mechanicsburg location and is truly thankful to serve the Mechanicsburg community, where he lives with his wife and five children. Bob enjoys fishing and searching for various critters with his kids, playing basketball, and mountain biking places unfit for two wheels. He places too much merit on his vertical jump, as if he isn't a middle aged man with achy knees.

Andrew Zang, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Andrew joined the Cardin & Miller staff in 2008. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh's Doctor of Physical Therapy program. While at Pitt, Andrew received extensive orthopedic and manual therapy training. He also had the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation at the UPMC Sportsmedicine Center. Andrew completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt, he competed in track and field and cross country for the Panthers. He was named to the Big East Conference Academic All-Star team in each of his four years. As a senior, Andrew was awarded a Senior Distinction award for his achievement in both academics and athletics.
Andrew's primary area of interest is in treating patients with low back and neck issues. While at Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy, he has become the primary therapist for treating patients with vestibular disorders (dizziness). As a clinician, Andrew has continued his education by attending courses on various orthopedic topics including: ACL injury prevention and rehab, optimizing performance of baseball players, and running injury rehab.
Andrew grew up in Central PA and was a 2001 graduate of Cumberland Valley. He and his wife, Allison, returned to Central PA and now reside in Mechanicsburg. In his free time, Andrew enjoys running and weight training. He looks forward to the opportunity to treat patients with orthopedic and neuromuscular related disorders in this area.
Amy Humphrey, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Amy earned her Physical Therapy degree from Widener University in 2002 before continuing to get her Doctorate degree from the University of St. Augustine in 2008. She received her undergraduate degree in Dance and Spanish in 1998 from James Madison University.
Amy spent the last ten years living in the District of Columbia metropolitan area where she was a physical therapist in a unique private pracitce that specialized in working with performing artisits. She was the onsite physical therapist for the Washington ballet for many years and she also provided physical therapy services for many broadway shows that passed through the Kennedy Center, Warner Theatre, and the National Theatre.
Amy is a board certified Orthopedic specialist as well as a certified manual therapist. Her professional focus is manual therapy of the shoulder, knee, hip and spine. She also has training as a Polstar Pilates practioner. Amy lives in her home town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania with her husband and five children.
Amanda Conlan, Physical Therapist Assistant
Amanda has been practicing as a Physical Therapist Assistant since 2002. After graduating from Central Pennsylvania College and passing her state licensure exam the same year, she has focused her career on outpatient orthopedics. Her continuing education background includes the use of functional exercise to treat complex musculoskeletal injuries and the implementation of myofascial techniques. She has been an integral full-time member of the Cardin and Miller team since April 2006. Amanda lives in Mechanicsburg with her husband Joel and in her spare time enjoys reading, watching “Top Chef” and spending time with her family and friends.
Sue Stum, Physical Therapist Assistant
Sue joined the Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy team in October of 2009. Sue is not a new-comer to the working world or the post-secondary education arena. She graduated from Central Pennsylvania College and passed her licensure exam to become a physical therapist assistant. Her education accomplishments also include receiving her Master's of Education in Sport Management with a coaching concentration from Millersville University. Before deciding to pursue her physical therapy education, Sue taught high school heath and physical education for six years. Along with her teaching, she also coached college track and field at Gettysburg College, high school field hockey and track and field (serving as head coach at Middletown Area High School from '04 to '07) and middle school field hockey. During her collegiate career, Sue excelled in sprinting and competed for Slippery Rock University as well as Liberty University.
When Sue is not working in the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Ben and their adorable dogs, Rascal and Sky. She also enjoys athletics of all kinds, teaching adult Sunday school at church, and making a mean apple pie!
Sarah Rumberger, Physical Therapist Assistant
Sarah joined the Cardin and Miller team in December of 2010. She has been practicing as a physical therapist assistant since 2008 after graduating from Penn State Mont Alto. Sarah has continued her education by taking courses in lower extremity dysfunction, muscle imbalance, vestibular dysfunction, and throwing injuries of the shoulder. She grew up in Central PA and graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 2005.
When she is not at work, she enjoys running and traveling with her husband Corey. Sarah ran the Marine Corp marathon in Washington DC in the fall of 2009 and hopes to someday run another marathon.
Breana Miller, PT Aide
Breana joined the Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy team in the summer of 2009. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, she attended Messiah College where she played soccer and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Science. After graduation, she worked as a TSS (Therapeutic Support Staff) with autistic children for one year. Breana and her husband, Tyler, were married in 2009. When she is not working, Breana enjoys playing soccer with her husband, coaching club soccer, snowboarding, and working out.
Amy Schach, Office Manager
Amy has been working with Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy since September of 2006. Amy began working in the healthcare industry fifteen years ago with a leading area orthopedic surgeon and physical therapy practice. Her professional experience had then provided her with a position as a surgical pre and post operative technician, ABO certified optician, and a billing specialist for a leading area opthalmology practice. Amy, therefore, continues to provide Cardin and Miller with the use of her academic and professional experience as an Office Manager to optimize benefits for all involved.
Jennifer Hench, Transcriptionist and Front Desk
Jennifer joined Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in January 2009. She has previously worked for the Rite Aid Corporation for 5 years as a customer service representative. Jennifer's past work experience had helped her become very efficient in our transcription department. When not typing letters to our referring physicians, Jennifer is lending a helping hand to the front desk. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her fiance, Chad, their handsome twins boys Colton and Joseph, their beautiful daughter Gabriella, and step-son, Kadin.
Jody Shields-Gibson, Receptionist
Denise Adams, Receptionist, Mechanicsburg Location
Denise joined Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in December 2011 and works at the location on Cumberland Parkway in Mechanicsburg as the Receptionist. She was a former client of Cardin and Miller in Carlisle and had great success with her therapy after a total knee replacement. She is retired from the Federal Government after 32 years of service with a customer service and computer background. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe and their loveable Rottweiler, Diesel and traveling.
